Guide
Everything you need to run a call with Subtl, in the order you will need it. Each page is short and specific; nothing here assumes you have read the one before it.
Start here
- Install and permissionsDownload the signed build, move it to Applications, and grant the two macOS permissions Subtl needs: microphone and system audio recording. Two minutes end to end.
- Your first callStart a session, pick the two languages, and read the transcript and its translation while you talk. What appears on screen, when, and what the other side sees.
During a call
- Windows and shortcutsHow to move and resize the transcript and prompter windows, switch each function on or off mid-call from the menu bar, and the keyboard shortcuts worth knowing.
- The AI prompterHow the prompter decides when to suggest an answer, how to ask it for one, and how to make its suggestions specific to your meeting instead of generic.
- Meeting contextSet up a preset for a meeting: your role, the goal, the counterpart, the tone, a glossary of terms, and documents the answers should quote.
Privacy and control
- Recognition on your MacRun speech recognition entirely on your own Mac with Whisper: nothing about the call leaves the device. Which model to download, which Macs are fast enough, and what you give up.
- Hidden from screen sharingSubtl's windows are excluded from screen shares and screen recordings. What that protects you from, what it does not, and when to turn it off.
